SSL Certificate Errors and ICE


To test "any" certificate authority's certificates, you can go to:

You will need to obtain a copy of the GoDaddy Global Root CA and the GoDaddy Secure Server Certificate (Intermediate Certificate).

To obtain a copy of the GoDaddy Global Root CA:
  1. Go to https://ssl-ccp.godaddy.com/repository/gdroot-g2.crt
  2. Save the file "gdroot-g2.crt".

To obtain a copy of the GoDaddy Secure Server Certificate (Intermediate Certificate):
  1. Go to https://ssl-ccp.godaddy.com/repository/gdig2.crt
  2. Save the file gdig2.crt.

There are two methods of adding certificates in most Windows operating systems:

  1. Using Internet Properties 
  2. Using the Microsoft Management Console (recommended if installing the certificate on a server OS).
To obtains a copy of the GoDaddy Global Root CA:

  1. Go to Internet Properties using the Control Panel or through Tools in Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on the tab "Content" .
  3. Click on "Certificates".
  4. Click on "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".
  5. Click on "Import" to bring up the Certificate Import Wizard.
  6. Browse to the file gdroot-g2.crt saved in step 2.
  7. Select the file and click "Next --> Next --> Finished".
  8. Try to activate or scan with the ICE software.
  9. If still receiving the SSL error "12175", then follow the instruction below to install the Intermediate Certification Authority.

To obtain a copy of the GoDaddy Secure Server Certificate (Intermediate Certificate):

  1. Go to Internet Properties using the Control Panel or through Tools in Internet Explorer.
  2. Click on the tab "Content".
  3. Click on "Certificates".
  4. Click on "Intermediate Certification Authorities".
  5. Click on "Import" to bring up the Certificate Import Wizard.
  6. Browse to the file gdig2.crt  saved in step 2.
  7. Select the file and click "Next --> Next --> Finished".
  8. Try to activate or scan with the ICE software.
