SSL Certificate Errors and ICE


1. Open a web browser on the machine in question.
2. Go to https://global-root-ca.chain-demos.digicert.com/
3.  You should see this page if the web browser trusts the DigiCert Global Root CA

4. To test that the Intermediate Certificate is present:
  • click on the webpage link Online Certificate Tester".
  • enter "fm.printaudit.com" (without the quotes) in the Server Address field and Click "CHECK SERVER".
  • the result should be similar this:

To obtain and install a copy of the DigiCert Global Root CA:

  1. Go to https://www.digicert.com/CACerts/DigiCertGlobalRootCA.crt.
  2. Save the file DigiCertGlobalRootCA.crt.
  3. Go to Internet Properties using the Control Panel or through Tools in Internet Explorer.
  4. Click on the tab "Content" .
  5. Click on "Certificates".
  6. Click on "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".
  7. Click on "Import" to bring up the Certificate Import Wizard.
  8. Browse to the file  DigiCertGlobalRootCA.crt saved in step 2.
  9. Select the file and click "Next --> Next --> Finished".
  10. Try to activate or scan with the ICE software.
  11. If still receiving the SSL error "12175", then follow the instruction below to install the Intermediate Certification Authority.

To obtain and install a copy of the DigiCert SHA2 Secure Server CA certificate.

  1. Go to https://www.digicert.com/CACerts/DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.crt.
  2. Save the file DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.crt.
  3. Go to Internet Properties using the Control Panel or through Tools in Internet Explorer.
  4. Click on the tab "Content".
  5. Click on "Certificates".
  6. Click on "Intermediate Certification Authorities".
  7. Click on "Import" to bring up the Certificate Import Wizard.
  8. Browse to the file DigiCertSHA2SecureServerCA.crt.  saved in step 2.
  9. Select the file and click "Next --> Next --> Finished".
  10. Try to activate or scan with the ICE software.
 
If all three steps have been followed (testing, installing Trusted Certificate, installing Intermediate certificate) have been done and the ICE software still generates an SSL error '12175', then contact Print Audit Support.
