**Important Changes to the Bulk Device Update Format**

Starting with Infinite Device Management 3.13, the format of the Bulk Device Update CSV file has changed.  This change was necessary to extend the functionality of the update utility.

Any downloaded files from an earlier version of Infinite Device Management will not work and the following error message will be generated:

Error Message: The CSV file you uploaded file must contain 15 columns. Please refer to the Bulk Device Updates section in the online help for further details.

CSV Format Details

The CSV file you upload to Infinite Device Management needs to be in a particular format. There are 15 fields in the CSV file, however most fields are optional. If an optional field is left blank, it will not be updated on the server and the current value will be left as is. The order of the fields is important, and it is important that there be exactly 15 fields in the CSV file even if many of them are blank.

  1. Site ID (Mandatory) - To obtain this, download a sample CSV file for the site as described previously.

  2. Device ID (Mandatory) - To obtain this, download a sample CSV file for the site as described previously.

  3. Device Name (Optional)

  4. Location (Optional)

  5. Serial Number (Optional)

  6. Asset Number (Optional)

  7. IP Address (Optional)

  8. MAC Address in the format AA-BB-CC-00-11-22 (Optional)

  9. Firmware Version (Optional)

  10. Device Life Count (Optional) - This will only be updated for devices not being tracked by an ICE (Manual devices).

  11. Device Color Life Count (Optional) - This will only be updated for devices not being tracked by an ICE (Manual devices).

  12. Device Key (Optional) - For most devices, the Device Key is its MAC Address in the format AA-BB-CC-00-11-22. For local devices or manual devices, their device keys vary. To obtain them, download a sample CSV file for the site as described previously.

  13. Custom Field 1 (Optional)

  14. Custom Field 2 (Optional)

  15. Purchase date in the format YYYY-MM-DD (Optional)
