How to change Print Audit 6 Database Type

How to change the database type in Print Audit 6 without reinstalling the software.

To change the Database type without uninstalling/reinstalling the software
  1. Open the Registry Editor. (Start Menu --> Run --> regedit)
  2. Locate the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Print Audit 6 or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Print Audit 6 on a 64 bit machine.
  3. Find entry on the the "DatabaseType" and double click on it.
  4. Change it to "1" for Access and "2" for MS-SQL.
  5. Exit the Registry Editor.
When you start the Print Audit Administrator, you be should prompted for the Database location (Access) or you will see the Print Audit Microsoft SQL Server Login screen depending the Database Type you set.

To backup a selected key in the registry, use these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedit.exe, and then click OK
  3. Locate and then click the key that contains the value that you want to edit
  4. Right-click on the key and choose Export.
  5. In the Save in box, select a location where you want to save the Registration Entries (.reg)
  6. In the File name box, type a file name, and then click Save.
