How to install the Print Audit 6 Client


To install to an individual workstation:

  1. Run the installation file “pa6setup.exe”.
  2. From the “Print Audit Installation Menu, select “Print Audit 6 Setup”.
  3. From the Print Audit 6 Setup Type dialog, select “Client Only Install” and click “Next”.
  4. There will be a warning dialog reminding the user that to install components other than the Client, the Step by Step installation must be run. Using the Client Only installation will uninstall any additional components that may have been previously installed.
  5. The Database Communicator Settings screen will appear. Enter the computer name or the IP address of the machine that is running the Database Communicator in the “Location” field. The Port field refers to the port that the Print Audit Client uses to communicate with the Database Communicator. Normally the default of “17520” is OK but the port must be the same as the one configured on the Database Communicator. This port must not be blocked by a firewall or router. Click “Next”.
  6. Click Install to complete the installation process.
  7. After the installation is complete, the user will be prompted to restart their PC. The PC must be restarted for the Print Audit Client to start normally.
