Troubleshooting Guide for Print Audit 6 Mac

Basic Troubleshooting:

Confirming Communication between the Client and the Database Communicator
1. Open the Terminal by selecting Go > Utilities > Terminal
2. Type 'ping [HOSTNAME]' (without the quotes, where HOSTNAME is the name of the computer running the Database Communicator)
a. Do you get a reply?
Yes, DNS is Fine.
No, Resolve the DNS issue.
If yes continue on.
3. Have the user or you stop the ping command by pressing and holding CTRL+Z
4. Type 'telnet [HOSTNAME] 17520' (without the quotes, where HOSTNAME is the name of the computer running the Database Communicator)
a. Do you see Connected to HostNameOfDBComm?
Yes, communication is fine.
No, ensure firewall is configured properly.

Repairing Permissions for Print Audit 6:
 
1. Open the Print Audit 6 Repair tool Finder > Applications > Print Audit 6 > Print Audit 6 Repair

2. Select Repair
3. Try Printing? Does this solve the issue? If not continue on
4. Try repairing the Disk Permissions by opening the Disk Utility by selecting Go > Utilities > Disk

5. Select the Macintosh HD or (main disk)
6. Select the Repair Disk Permissions button
