Secure .csv File Import

To import printers from a CSV file:

  1. Log into the Print Audit Secure Administrator
  2. Hover over Printers, then click on Printer Import
  3. Click the Browse button
  4. Select the file you would like to import, then click Open
  5. Click the OK button
The .csv file must be in the following format:

Printer ID, Name, Description, IP Address, Port, UNC Path, Model, Manufacturer
There are a few other things to remember:

  • The Description and UNC Path are optional.
  • The Printer ID and Name must be unique.
  • If you edit your .csv file in Microsoft Excel remember to save it in .csv format or it will not have the commas. Excel will change the formatting of the file to it's preferred format automatically.
  • You do not want quotation marks in the file.
  • It never hurts to open your .csv in a text editor (Notepad for example) and verify the format is correct.
Below is an example of what one line in your .csv file might look like.

124,Xerox Main Floor,,,9100,,7835,Xerox

Let's break it down:

  • 124 is the Printer ID.
  • Xerox Main Floor is the Name.
  • There is no Description so there is nothing here.
  • is the IP Address.
  • 9100 is the Port, this is a standard printer port and should be the same in most environments.
  • There is no UNC path so there is nothing entered here.
  • 7835 is the Model.
