Is it possible to export a Rapid Assessment Key scan, edit the file to remove a printer from the scan then re-import the file?

Customer Question:

is it possilbe to export a RAK scan, edit the file to remove a printer from the scan then re-import the file?

Answer:

Yes it is possible but you will have to change the date to be a bit in the future.

Below explains how to remove a printer:

Open the xml file in a text editor. Remove everything between <Device> and </Device>, including those tags. Save the file. Double-Click to make sure it still opens in Internet Explorer. Import it into the RAK.

If you change the 'last scanned date' just increase the last digit by 1 to make it different.

Helpful Hints

  • You must export the file in XML format and edit the XML file
  • Make sure the XML file is not set to read only
  • You must open the XML file in a text editor to make changes
  • Make sure the file is saved as Unicode format
